Vantage Logistics Successfully Transports the First New-Generation D19E Locomotive for Viet Nam Railways

Viet Nam Railways (VNR) has officially received the first new-generation D19E locomotive at Yen Vien Station. Behind this major infrastructure milestone was a rapid field operation executed by Vantage Logistics – encompassing customs clearance, inland transport, and the final lifting and safe placement of the equipment onto the tracks, all completed just ahead of the National Day holiday.     Prioritizing Safety in Heavy-Lift Operations When handling equipment measuring 17.2 meters long and weighing 81 tons, safety becomes the absolute top priority throughout the entire operation. From loading the locomotive onto specialized heavy-haul trailers at the border to its final placement at Yen Vien Station, the transport plan was meticulously prepared and closely monitored at every stage. This rigorous oversight minimized potential risks, ensuring complete safety for both the high-value equipment and the on-site personnel.     Track Placement: The On-Site Challenge Delivering the locomotive to Yen Vien Station was only part of the journey. The next phase required flawless on-site coordination: hoisting the 81-ton unit from the specialized trailer and perfectly aligning its wheel axles onto the railway tracks. To execute this, our engineers, crane operators, and transport teams worked in seamless synchronization based on a pre-calculated plan. Every step – lifting, moving, and positioning – was carried out in exact sequence to safely set the equipment in place.     Meeting Tight Deadlines Ahead of the Holiday The cargo arrived at the border just before the National Day holiday, significantly shrinking the window for processing and inland transit. Vantage Logistics rapidly finalized customs clearance and mobilized the transport fleet to extract the equipment from the border exactly as planned. Despite the intense time pressure, every stage from cargo receipt to road transit strictly adhered to customs regulations and traffic safety laws. Through this project, Vantage Logistics continues to reinforce its field operational capabilities, fully prepared to meet the rigorous demands of upcoming major transport infrastructure projects.       Contact Vantage Logistics for tailored transport solutions and competitive quotations. Synchronizing Logistics with Construction Schedules: 844 Tons of Equipment, 150 TEUs, and 5 OOG Packages for the VinFast Ha Tinh Factory

Following previous successful deliveries, Vantage Logistics has completed another large-scale mechanical equipment shipment comprising 170 packages, with a total weight of 844 tons, 1,679 CBM and 150 TEU of containerized cargo, including 5 Out-of-Gauge (OOG) packages weighing up to 63 tons each.     Synchronizing with On-Site Assembly Schedules The challenge of this shipment was not only its substantial volume, but also its demanding schedule. The entire delivery plan had to be designed to run in parallel and align precisely with the actual construction and installation progress at the site. To meet this demand, Vantage Logistics established a “Just-In-Time” cargo coordination process. The freight, comprising both containerized (FCL) and breakbulk project cargo, was allocated and transported from the port to the factory in exact accordance with the engineering team’s assembly sequence. This solution ensured the site always had the right equipment at the right time, preventing cargo congestion from obstructing the workspace while minimizing unnecessary storage costs.     Balancing Heavy-Lift Requirements and Transport Costs Among the 170 project cargo packages, 5 press machine components fell under the Out-of-Gauge (OOG) category, with varying dimensions and weights ranging from 51 to 63 tons per unit. This created specific requirements during port handling and inland transportation to the project site. Vantage Logistics proactively arranged suitable handling and transport methodologies for this heavy equipment group, carefully balancing the need for specialized vehicles and lifting operations against cost efficiency to meet the client’s planning. This approach enabled the effective handling of the OOG units while keeping logistics costs under control and maintaining the overall schedule of the shipment.     Project Outcomes The continued execution of shipments for the VinFast Ha Tinh Electric Vehicle Factory demonstrates Vantage Logistics’ capability to simultaneously coordinate multiple cargo types, handle complex OOG equipment, and synchronize logistics operations with strict project timelines. End-to-End Handling at Huu Nghi Border Gate: Transloading, Customs Clearance and Transportation of 66-Ton Construction Machinery

Vantage Logistics is managing a series of continuous import shipments for pile-drivers and pile-extractors through the Huu Nghi International Border Gate. These units fall under the Out-of-Gauge (OOG) category, with dimensions of 16.7m long × 3.4m wide × 3.4m high and a weight of 66 tons per machine.     Coordinating Transloading and Import Procedures at the Border Gate For construction machinery imported by road, the border gate is an important point in the overall import process. Vantage Logistics coordinates the transloading operation at Huu Nghi Border Gate while simultaneously processing all necessary procedures to forward the equipment to its final destinations. Alongside the physical handling, the Vantage Logistics team executed the import customs clearance and the mandatory technical inspection and registration for the machinery. Conducting both procedures concurrently at the border ensured the equipment quickly met all legal requirements for road circulation. This enabled the machinery to be released from the yard in the shortest possible time, significantly minimizing storage costs for the client.     Coordinating Inland OOG Transport to Multiple Destinations Upon completing the required procedures at the border gate, Vantage Logistics took charge of the inland transportation, moving the equipment directly to the client’s warehouses and designated construction sites. Maintaining a steady import frequency of 2 to 3 machines per month, Vantage Logistics’ transport fleet continuously distributed the cargo to various project locations. These destinations spanned from Northern provinces such as Phu Tho, Hanoi, and Hai Phong to the North-Central region of Nghe An, adapting to the client’s specific demands. The movement of these OOG units along national highways was meticulously surveyed and controlled to ensure strict traffic safety and on-schedule delivery.     Project Outcomes Integrating the service chain – border gate transloading, customs clearance, technical inspection, and inland transport –under a single point of management ensured a smooth, uninterrupted import flow through the Huu Nghi Border Gate. This comprehensive solution directly fulfilled the ongoing demand for heavy machinery at domestic construction projects. From Hai Phong Port to Quảng Ninh Anchorage: Vantage Logistics Coordinates Nearly 10,000 CBM of OOG Cargo for Vessel Loading

Vantage Logistics has continued to handle its second shipment of the year for the Rabigh II Project. The shipment comprised 276 packages of oversized and overweight (OOG) steel structures, with a total weight of 1,457.07 tons and a volume of 9,941.96 CBM.     Coordinating an Integrated Port-to-Vessel Service The project required a high level of coordination across multiple operational stages. Vantage Logistics provided an integrated service covering port handling, barge transportation, and ship agency, connecting the operations from Hai Phong Port to the Quang Ninh anchorage area. As the ship agent, Vantage Logistics served as the central point for information and coordination among suppliers, transport operators, and the vessel owner, ensuring that operational information and vessel handling plans were aligned among all parties.     Maintaining Cargo Flow at Anchorage Under Unfavorable Weather Conditions As planned, the cargo was transported by barge from Hai Phong Port to the Quang Ninh anchorage area for loading onto the mother vessel. Unlike cargo operations at a conventional berth, offshore anchorage operations are highly dependent on weather and local conditions. Despite unfavorable weather conditions in August, which created additional challenges for barge movement and positioning, the Vantage Logistics team maintained the pace of cargo operations. Cargo was continuously transferred from the barges to the vessel in accordance with safety requirements. By coordinating the barges effectively, cargo remained available for loading, helping minimize vessel waiting time at anchorage.     Project Outcome The successful completion of the second shipment for the Rabigh II Project demonstrates the effectiveness of having a single coordination point for an integrated logistics operation. For OOG cargo requiring delivery and loading at anchorage, combining barge transportation with ship agency services helps maintain operational continuity and support the project schedule.   Contact Vantage Logistics to discuss Project Logistics solutions, OOG transportation by barge, and ship agency services.
